Ricardo's Place
The success of La Cocina de Ricardo is dedicated to the family tradition of excellence that began with Grandma Juana in Mixtlán Jalisco, México. She was the main chef of her town and would prepare the food for small and large events, from parties to weddings, making every occasion memorable. This tradition of thoughtfully prepared recipes was passed to Mamacita Alicia (the current chef and Owner), who brought all this knowledge to Southern California some 3O years ago, along with two brothers & eight kids.

Ricardo, a San Clemente High School Graduate, convinced Mamacita to    share her recipes with the Orange County people and so she did, opening  their first restaurant in the middle 1980s. Ricardo, Alicia, Alejandro, Estela, Bertha & Rosa as well as the rest of the family, are dedicated to maintain a clean establishment, the best, healthiest and most affordable Mexican food around. We thank you for your business and consider you an important part  of our family tradition.

Black Ridge Vineyards Overlooking the majestic slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains, nearly sixty miles south of San Francisco and only three miles outside of downtown Los Gatos, lie eighty pristine acres forming Black Ridge Vineyards. Here, the estate's elevation and geographic orientation is ideal for protection from the harsh coastal winds and lingering fog to receive a full day of sun.The land of Black Ridge Vineyards was planted with grapes as early as the mid-nineteenth century during the California wine boom. As unique and diverse as the history of the land, our wine mirrors this complexity in its own mysterious way. We can only hope that our wine will impact you like it has impacted us and allows you to feel like you are truly experiencing something exceptional - a little taste of our great Santa Cruz Mountain terroir.

Hanna Winery & Vineyards  Dr. Elias Hanna loved his adopted country of the U.S., but still yearned for the pace of farm life of his birthplace Syria. In the 1970's he realized his dream with the purchase of 12 acres in the Russian River Valley. It was here that this world-renowned cardiac surgeon introduced his children to winemaking, in particular homemade Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. This simple beginning, driven by personal aspiration, led to great achievements. Today, Hanna Winery encompasses more than 600 acres of land with approx. 250 acres planted to vines in the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, and its Bismark Ranch in the Mayacamas Mountains. Christine Hanna, the eldest daughter, runs the daily operations and with the help of winemaker Jeff Hinchliffe, they have crafted 13 award-winning wines, like its Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Maddalena Winery   Since 1917, the historical San Antonio Winery has been the heart of wine making and wine culture in Los Angeles. It is the last producing winery in Los Angeles and continues to hand craft wines from estate vineyards in Napa Valley, Monterey, Paso Robles, and many viticultural areas throughout California. As the last of more than 100 wineries which once spread throughout Los Angeles, San Antonio produces countless award winning wines and is one of the last wineries owned and operated for four generations by the family who founded it. Maddalena is onew of those wines. The Riboli Family traces its wine producing roots to Lombardia, Italy, where founder Santo Cambianica learned to make simple table wines for his family and friends. Today the San Antonio Winery adds a modern twist to a rich historical tradition. In the state-of-the-art functioning winery there is a comprehensive fine wine store, the gourmet Maddalena Cucina restaurant, gift boutique, and group rooms ideal for all occasions. This landmark is proud to be one of the most unique venues in LA and a large part of the city’s cultural fabric. Raymond Vineyards  Founded in 1971, Raymond Vineyards is one of Napa Valley’s great estates.  The winery’s family tree is entwined with the earliest foundations of the Napa Valley: the Raymond family arrived in Napa in 1933 and became deeply connected to the valley’s winemaking origins after Roy Raymond, Sr. married Martha Jane Beringer in 1936, whose family had arrived in  Napa in 1869.  Roy Raymond Sr. ultimately worked more than thirty-five years with the Beringers before finding a 90-acre estate straddling Rutherford and St. Helena in the heart of the Napa Valley that remains today one of Napa’s pioneering original estates. The quality of the wines attracted immediate attention from wine journalists, competitions and wine connoisseurs, and Raymond began to build its enduring reputation for elegant wines with a beautiful balance of finesse, power and complexity.  Five generations of the Raymond family imbued the winery with a sense of its deep roots in the Napa Valley and a commitment to honor those roots, the estate and the family tradition through every wine produced.

R. Merlo Estate Vineyards   is located along the banks of the wild and scenic South Fork of the Trinity River and at the base of South Fork Mountain, the longest contiguous ridge in the continental United States. This wholly unique setting helps create wines that speak to the power and beauty that is Hyampom Valley. Influenced by the idyllic growing season and climate of this small pocket valley, the fruit produced in the R. Merlo Estate Vineyards expresses a strong sense of place. Based on the concept that quality wine is grown in the vineyard, a minimalist approach is taken in the cellar, allowing the wines to clearly reflect the varietal character and distinct terroir of Hyampom Valley.                                                       R. Merlo Estate Vineyards produces a rare collection of richly flavored and expressive wines. Unlike many California wines, these deep, complex wines are not high in alcohol, nor overripe in flavors. Rather, the wines are naturally big and bold, yet refined and beautiful.

Rodney Strong Vineyards was one of the pioneers of Sonoma County’s modern wine industry, an acknowledged visionary who understood the potential that Sonoma’s soil and climate held for producing world-class wines. A successful dancer before retiring and turning to his second love, winemaking, Rodney Strong established Sonoma County’s 13th bonded winery in 1959. Rodney Strong Vineyards grows and produces wines from grapes grown exclusively in Sonoma County’s finest appellations: Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill and Sonoma Coast. The winery’s 14 unique estate vineyards represent a perfect combination of varietal selection and place, the unique soil and climate as well as farming and winemaking techniques. Since 1989, the Klein family, who has been involved in California agriculture for four generations, has privately owned the winery. Their passion for sustainable farming practices, solar power and other green business practices led us to become Sonoma County’s first carbon neutral winery.

San Simeon Winery As the wine industry of California moved from Southern to Central and Northern California in the mid 1900’s, Santo and his nephew Stefano Riboli had no intention of leaving their new home in LA. Without this decision, an integral part of LA’s cultural renaissance would have been lost. While Santo and Stefano lived and developed their business in Los Angeles, they kept their focus on the burgeoning wine regions in the North and over time acquired vineyard properties in some of the most prestigious areas. This relationship between growing in the North and producing in the South is a true source of pride for the Winery and the Riboli Family. When Stefano Riboli's uncle, Santo Cambianica, founded San Antonio Winery in 1917, he began a winemaking tradition that has spanned four generations. Today, the entire Riboli family continues this proud devotion to quality and heritage. To celebrate this achievement, all of our handcrafted products belong to the Riboli Family of Wines. Our commitment is reflected in every bottle that bears the Riboli name. San Simeon is one of those wines.

Karl Strauss Brewing Co. It all started back in the mid 1980s, when our fearless founders, Chris Cramer and Matt Rattner, graduated from college and moved to San Diego, Chris’ hometown. They set up shop in an apartment on Mission Beach, armed with newly minted degrees, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an appreciation for beer. Inspired by a brewpub Chris came upon while traveling through Australia, they wanted to open a microbrewery and reintroduce locally brewed handcrafted beer to San Diego, a concept banned by Prohibition in the 1930s. But there’s a fine line between a good idea and a crazy one. They needed to consult an authority on the subject. Enter Karl. As in Karl M. Strauss, Chris’ cousin and world renowned master brewer of over 50 years. On February 1st, 1989, the night before Chris and Matt opened the doors of the first brewpub in San Diego in over 50 years, they wondered: “Will people come?” A lot has changed since those early days. We now brew over 30 beers a year, including 6 core beers and a host of specialty beers, and seasonals. Our distribution has expanded to include over 2,500 bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and grocery stores throughout Southern California. And we’ve opened five more Brewery Restaurants in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles.
